Meet Imani Michelle
Hi, my name is Imani Michelle. I’m a blogger and the founder of The Imani Michelle (TIM).
I live in “Upstate” New York with my puppy, Timberland, who is just like his mom. (Fun fact: I’ve lived in all four major Upstate NY cities — Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and Albany.) He’s an almost two-year old Yorkshire terrier and a Bichon Frise puppy. Be sure to follow me on Instagram and watch my stories to see that little ball of energy! When I’m not busy practicing law, blogging, playing with Timber, or watching horror movies, you can find me writing in my planners. I’m #TeamPaperPlanner because there’s no experience like writing in a paper planner! (Some people even argue that paper planners are better than digital ones. Read this.) I love planning because it keeps me organized and decreases my anxiety and stress.
My philosophy is: planning is self-care and self-care is planning. I love writing to-do lists and incorporating neutral colors into my agenda. The practice of planning itself is self-care because it’s therapeutic. I also consider planning to be an art-form. Search planner hashtags on Instagram and you’ll see some of the most creatively beautiful planner spreads!
Self-care is planning, too. We know self-care is important, but where is the guidebook or instructions on how to incorporate those practices into our daily lives? How can we improve our self-care practices so that they’re more effective? I read so many articles about self-care where the authors recommend different activities. However, I struggle with consistency.
TIM fills in this gap. This platform is dedicated to promoting an intentional and organized approach to self-care. I create content for others, and myself, to add structure to self-care routines. I believe that consistent and intentional self-care routines will lead to a deeper level of self-love.
