2023 Word of the Year Inspiration

Now is the perfect time to start thinking about your word of the year for 2023.

A “word of the year” is a word (or short phrase) that you use throughout a year. This word should encompass your habits and intentions and capture your overarching goals for the next 365 or so days.

If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know that I love choosing one word to guide me during the year.

Sounds like a lot of pressure, right? Only one word to guide the ENTIRE year?

To be honest with you, I never feel restricted by choosing one word of the year. In fact, I feel the opposite. Yes, choosing one word does give me some boundaries to operate within as I identify or update my goals and habits. However, I find it easier to map out my year by choosing one word as inspiration. As I make progress on some of my goals, I can return to my word of the year to help guide me when updating my goals for the remainder of the year.

In the past, I’ve used words like “no” and “steady” as inspiration for my year and goals in the past. (Follow me on Instagram to see what I chose for 2023!) The word I chose for 2023 will help me conquer my fears and step out on faith, some of my intentions for the new year.

So, what’s your word of the year?

Still stuck?

Inspiration is everywhere! Whether you’re reading this in December 2022 or May 2023, there’s still time to choose a word for guidance and inspiration as you navigate the remaining time in the year.
