The Top Three Superior Thanksgiving Foods
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I mean, it's also the best holiday of the year so of course it's my favorite. In honor of this wonderful day, I'm sharing the three superior and inferior Thanksgiving foods (in my opinion).
This post could not be about Thanksgiving food without this meme. If you know you know. If you don't click here because you're missing out on one of the best Thanksgiving songs ever.
3)Turkey
Of course, turkey is on the list. You can certainly celebrate Thanksgiving without eating turkey. But that's like eating Reese Cups without the peanut butter filling on the inside. It's just not the same without it.
2)Yams
Yams are a very close second on this list. In my house, it's not Thanksgiving unless we're having yams and the number one Thanksgiving food on this list. I swear I can smell the cinnamon baking on the yams as I type this.
1) (Baked) Mac and cheese
Everyone who knows me outside of Al Gore's Internet knows that mac and cheese is my favorite food ever. But my family and I have an interesting theory as to why it's my favorite food. It's not a coincidence. I was born six weeks before my estimated due date. My mom and her family split food responsibilities for Thanksgiving and met up at her parent’s house. Guess what my mom had to make for Thanksgiving dinner in 1993? Yup. Macaroni and cheese.
As for me and my house, we will always have mac and cheese on major holidays.
Thanksgiving Foods We Can Eliminate
1) Ham
I like ham. Ham is good. But I would also live a fruitful life if I never had ham again in my life.
2) Rolls
I could live without rolls! I'd be sad but I also don't want to eliminate other categories on this list.
3) Casseroles
All casseroles can disappear forever. This applies to casseroles of all kinds: green bean, corn, or whatever vegetable or other food people tend to throw in a casserole.
Did your favorite food make the list or did I offend you by listing one of your favorites on the elimination list? What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?
